Welcome
Hello, and welcome to this first post on The Student Review’s new editorial blog!
As part of our continuing commitment to openness and communication with our readers - a determination I stressed in my anniversary post in February - we have decided to create this blog as a means for our editorial staffers to keep you up to date with what they’re up to and how TSR is doing.
Our hope is that this will be a place to discuss TSR’s ongoing development as we grow from strength to strength (we recently hit our 500th article!), as well as a way to give you better insight into the work we do behind the scenes. It should also give us a chance to explain and justify the choices we make: why and how we do what we do, and how our decisions impact the newspaper.
If we thought of TSR as a business, we might call this the company blog. But we prefer to think of ourselves as a medium, a way to ensure that the talents of aspiring student journalists have a chance to shine in this ever-more competitive world. At the same time we are a service, providing you with great quality articles on an incredibly wide range of topics. Whether our writers are informing, investigating, critiquing, or opining, we can guarantee it’s going to be good.
Simply put, we editors are extremely proud of what is being built at The Student Review, and we very much look forward to sharing our experiences with you as we continue to guide the construction of this towering monument to student achievement.
